Also why are there boxes around my text and I have to select text in each box before I can select underline??? I want to select a section of text and just hit underline like it used to be in Acrobat X!
Not liking so far…. Try running the Repair Adobe Reader Installation command from under the Help menu to see if it corrects the issue. The only thing that affects the appearance of the Underline is your zoom or magnification amount. I have recently been marking up a document with the underline tool. When I started using underline I had a nice thick underline - easy to see however when using underline today it has reverted to a very thin line that is difficult to see.
How can I change the thickness? The only options in tool default properties is to change the colour or opacity. The tool is configurable, and you can specify the text characteristics which can then be used as a default for the tool. You will always see the two tools you mentioned - the sticky note and the text highlight in any document.
If possible, ask the person who created the PDF file if they can send you a different copy with Reader rights enabled for commenting. I had adobe version 9 and it would save the font settings for my typewriter tool. Now, it will not save my settings.

We are considering stopping order for the upgraded versions for other team members because of this lack. If you are using Adobe Reader, and are trying to fill out a form you may not be able to do so unless the person who created the form included settings to allow Adobe Reader users to fill it in.

Or should I just try to reinstall my Adobe Reader? When you produce a comment report you can specify where the comments are located. How can you print the document with the sticky notes showing exactly where you placed them instead of on a separate page? In order to have a colored background, you need to add a Text Box comment. Try correcting your installation. Please try repairing the installation. The new comments tool is so much more intuitive.
I am an old time Acrobat user, now things are so much easier to explain to people and get them to comment in the right way. Draw in the PDF:. To edit or resize the markup, select it and drag one of the handles to make your adjustments. To add a pop-up note to the markup, select the Hand tool, and double-click the markup. To delete a drawing markup, select it and press Delete. Group and ungroup markups. You cannot group text edit markups.

I'm trying to do the same thing. The Pencil tool creates free-form drawings, and the Pencil Eraser tool removes the pencil markups. Set the desired options in the Properties toolbar. To create a cloud or polygon shape, click to create the start point, move the pointer, and click to create each segment.
To finish drawing the shape, click the start point, or right-click and choose Complete from the menu. Double-click to end a polygon line. To draw a line, arrow, or rectangle, either drag across the area where you want the markup to appear, or click twice: once to create the start point and once to create the end point. To draw free-form lines using the Pencil tool , drag where you want to begin drawing. You can release the mouse button, move the pointer to a new location, and continue drawing.
